| Let me see now. The movie: High Crimes opens with a pederast Judd get off on a legal technicality, and his law firm so that it promotes. But when your company learns that it represents an (allegedly) wrongly accused military hero in a high profile case, make it clear that his job is in jeopardy. Goes down from there. | I must say that 2002's "High Crimes" in my opinion is one of the most underrated films I like the story that has plenty of intrigue and suspense, and drama to it. I for one end and a little surprising that the lines are witty and well written and the acting is first class as Judd and Freeman fire screen with great chemistry. And Peet Caviezel and support the good performances. Taking place in the city by the bay of San Francisco, California, stars Ashley Judd as Claire Kubik a powerful defender, who enjoys her life with her husband Tom (James Caviezel) until it suddenly explodes when the FBI charges him with killing of innocent people who allegedly occurred during an operation fifteen years earlier. And here is where the intrigue and suspense that begins when the dishes are really Tom Tom? is a government cover up? Enter now the help of a lawyer on his luck Charles Grimes (Morgan Freeman), who uses his cunning dirty work and research techniques to uncover the truth and discover the real mystery. Employment and welfare are on line to find the truth. Sexy Amanda Peet is good as the free spirit of Jackie and free care polar opposite of her sister Claire. Peet's character Jackie is still tied up and burned his mouth taped up during a scene in the home invasion Claire's home when an intruder tries to get his message to stay away from the cause and the military has a lid and is attempt to hide the truth. | Although the ideas were very good and interesting, there's always a "big twist" at the end that you can almost predict today. I mentioned before, but I will repeat, you've seen a good thriller, then you've seen them all. While it seemed that the director had good intentions, tried too hard to hit the audience when in fact I would have written a better script. Another problem is that I had Ashley and Morgan are being stereotyped, and most of Ashley Morgan, as they are signing on this thriller with shocking ending. It gets old, they could do what he really after the excellent crime thriller "Kiss the Girls." | Any High Crimes Thriller film with Morgan Freeman should see the value, though this concept of a great little thriller that strains belief. Ashley Judd as an attorney is terribly shrill hell bent on saving her husband's death. You must get awfully tired of these thankless roles. I just hope they pay their abundance. What did Oscar-caliber work in Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Freeman away from a piece of the film, which does not help. Worth seeing if nothing is worth renting. They do play well off each other, I must admit. |
