| I did not know this Equilibrium film existed until its opening in cinemas where I saw a positive review in the U.S. Today. When finally there was a theater playing on a Sunday, I promised myself to return the weekend after buying TIX and when I had more time. The next weekend, again in the theater ... BALANCE already gone! There was ZERO advertising and what is the earliest theater I saw in recent memory. What a shame - after watching on PPV, this movie: Equilibrium was very enjoyable! Beautiful set design, cinematography and costumes, it reminded me instantly of other small SF image GATTACA. Matrix defined but there are nuances in this film, as well as fragments of "Brave New World." This is a martial arts / SF movie: Equilibrium with a philosophical point, not as good as the original, but infinitely less complex and more exciting than Matrix Reloaded. No boring speeches here, just a good message in a tightly woven script, full of plot twists and acted by an excellent cast. I think this movie: Equilibrium will do well for itself in the long term, as positive word of mouth spread and people begin to pass along copies of the DVD (before it's EC-10). I hope to see more work of this director, and Christian Bale, because he brings a special touch to your every feature. |
| One of the best movies of all time, especially Christian Bale's work, one of my favorites, has done. Look at them 3 times a day. It shows the strength of human nature prevails no matter how removed. A masterpiece of Kurt Wimmer deserves to be reviewed at least a month. I saw it very late in comparison with the date it was released, but after seeing that finally said, "thumbs up for you." The best thing about the film: Equilibrium is the portrayal of human emotions, for example, after the burning of Mary O 'Brien, Preston was surprised how deeply the pain and sadness and began to risk his life. It is indeed, if not better than Matrix, certainly not least in a topic. |
