| While this is a very good film, not to be confused with the reality of the loss of Bat-21 Bravo. The facts were more anxious that the film: Bat*21 and many brave American men and Vietnamese died as a result of an apparent lack of understanding of the situation in the battle of Quang Tri, the MAC-V and 7 AF. In addition to the EB, an HH-53 UH-1H, AH-1G and OV-10 were downed with the loss of the crew, either KIA or captured. It was not a piece of cake mission as the summary suggests. This EB-66 aircraft flew an electronic decoy mission to make the surface air pressure on terrorists. The real collapse took place during the Easter Offensive. Many people tried to save LTC Hambleton, ultimately it is a stamp and a Navy Sea Command Vietnamese. |
| Iceal Lieutenant Colonel Hambleton (Gene Hackman) is a respected strategist in middle age that has only seen the war from the air - and high in the air, too. During a reconnaissance mission, however, is shot down behind enemy lines for the first time. Scared and out of its element, it must rely on Captain Hambleton Clark (Danny Glover), a pilot, to help keep his composure until a rescue can happen. Most of the scenes are just two drivers, almost making it a two-play action. Both men give stellar performances, with Hackman putting a decidedly different turn in its-kind hard to control individual. Glover is also the tireless pilot aces. And just in case you think it will be more talk than action in this film, do not worry. The Vietcong åre around somewhere, and they know Hambleton on the outskirts. Clark not only has to Hambleton of there before the good ol 'Charlie is found, is that out of there before the U.S. forces carpet bomb the entire area! Needless to say, there are plenty of bombs bursting. Jerry Reed, who plays Commander Clark also becomes a good performance - a little above par Reed - and served as executive producer and composed some of the songs on the soundtrack. |
| To this day I am still amazed at how well Iceal Lieutenant Colonel Hambleton was able to formulate a plan on how they say in the army, "to get the hell out of Dodge." This film: Bat*21 was not based on the most sophisticated special effects to be good. Was based primarily on the two main characters to create a good dialogue between them. For fans of the entire war there, this was a good Bat*21 Drama to sit and watch some of the most unusual tactics to survive in bad situations. |
| Good Vietnam War action / drama that has great acting, but has nothing different to offer to a person who has seen many other Vietnam War movies.Don Do not get me wrong, this Bat*21 Drama movie is good, but nothing really spectacular either.As I said, nothing new here.Some and some very emotional scenes ones as a means of battle scenes but nothing original well.Good and don'ts for before.Good Vietnam war movie: Bat*21 fans and big fans of the lead actors . For those who like this film, see also FLIGHT OF THE INTRUDER is much better than this ........... |
