But when a beastly veterinarian (Dean Jones) makes Beethoven the target of an unspeakable animal experiment, George becomes the only hope for saving the Newton's furriest family member.

Routine - yet attractive - family / animal comedy (which has spawned a theatrical sequel and three direct-to-video sequels) in which the perfectly cast Charles Grodin plays a grumpy, annoying parent who is persuaded by his family to keep a runaway St. Bernard that has escaped the clutches of a dog nappers duo. I'm just a fool for a good dog DVD film Beethoven - or if not good, at least an endearing one. "Beethoven" is perfectly acceptable entertainment of its kind - with a strong likability factor above any criticism of the writing or DivX film Beethoven production. It is not entirely harmless - if you are a parent, you may have to explain some scenes objectionable to their young children. However, I like it. "Beethoven" himself (played by "Chris") often steals the film: Beethoven from nominal star Grodin. Dean Jones, star of a live-action Walt Disney Pictures in the 1960s, is very funny as the slimy villain. Oliver Platt and Stanley Tucci (who joined together again to "imposters") play the two affected dogs that intelligence work nappers Jones. Co-writer Edmond Dantes is actually John Hughes, for those of you who do not already know. And you can say: the dopes played by Platt and Tucci are obviously another clone of the characters Harry and Marv from "Home Alone." Happy viewing. 7 / 10
i love this movie! The first time I saw it I fell in love with him! First of all, Beethoven is soo cute as a puppy and I could not help feeling sorry for him! Then when it grows up to be soo great and totally ruins the life of George! It's soo funny! I love Bonny Hunt, who plays a cool and pleasant, but not easy mama! My favorite part is when two people who want to fool the evil George comeover a barbecue and Beethoven takes a walk! I'ts sooo funny! I like children too because I remember my brothers. Rice is like my big sister, Emily is like my sister, and even share the same name! And Ted is exactly like my brother, like dorky! This is one of my Alltime favorite! I highly recommend it! We should not see this Beethoven Comedy expecting an Oscar worthy performance, just watch and enjoy !!!!!!!!
This was almost like a kind of nice old DivX film Beethoven the whole family can enjoy, "as the stupid trailers used to always say. They are not always right about this, but they are with this. BAD NEWS - The "bad news" is (a) the silly ending, (b) some scenes dumb, stupid earlier on that you've seen, could never happen, and (c) the three kids were annoying and bossy sometimes . GOOD NEWS - The "good news" is, of course, "Beethoven," the lovable St. Bernard, which is very fun to watch, especially with all his facial expressions. It is also a very entertaining story and there is absolutely nothing offensive, language wise, here. GLOBAL - This was popular enough to spawn several sequels, none of which were close to this caliber at a time. A good family Beethoven film worth seeing, but especially if you like big, lovable dogs.
I really liked this Beethoven Comedy film when I was a kid, I'm a fan of Chuck Grodin is a very good actor in its own right. I also love Bonnie Hunt is nice and a good selection of characters as the mother. The one I have with beef is the ridiculous Beethoven many sequels, I think that two is enough for this movie. I thought Patricia Heaton Everybody Loves Raymond fame really played their role very well. Dr. Varnick was a psychopath with thick glasses, by the way good job of that type! I recommend to children and dog lovers are getting a little old, but still a fun movie, even today.
I love Beethoven, because I love dogs. Beethoven is about a girl who dreamed of a puppy and became a reality! But the puppy grows into a large dog.A big, slobbering St. Bernard. The father does not like Beethoven, and to get rid of him. There is also a bad surgeon, wants to kill Beethoven. Unfortuanley evil veterinarian put fake blood on themselves and Beethoven. Then the father wants to kill him for attacking him. The vet keeps Beethoven in a hideout where his friends are about to perform tests on it. The father fortunately saved the day. This is a lovely family DVD movie Beethoven that any dog lover should enjoy.
