He saw this as a world premiere at the Locarno festival. In 2K DLP projection screen about 27m wide. Looked very good, apart from some aliasing at times. The DVD film Vexille takes pictures of "Dune" (sandworms) and some others, but it is very interesting, with its mix of photo realistic and unrealistic CGI elements. They look very Blue Ray HD disc. The story is about a future that Japan has been protected from all foreign surveillance over 10 years so nobody knows what is happening. There is suspicion of illegal production of androids in a large company with unclear objectives, potentially dangerous to the human race worldwide.

Vexille entered on the heels of disappointing Appleseed Ex Machina and blown away. All this is first class, history, while concerned, it is still easy to follow and very attractive. You care about the characters when they die, even the display of time. A standard (ie not HD) disc, the image is fantastic, but I have seen in a PS3 so that may have helped upconverting. The mixture is completely immersive surround sound and goes a long way to achieve that in history. The action sequences, while somewhat derivative, are bright and well-mounted and executed. All this is spectacular, served by the music, which is a combination of Oakenfold signing of breakbeat techno and selected songs from other artists, and never be placed or misplaced. In addition, the anime style, a blend of cell shaded 2D and CGI, is reminiscent of Appleseed, only a little more fluid and stylish. The Japanese audio track is solid as expected, and to my surprise the English copy is actually very well done. Bonus points for that. In total, Vexille is a must buy for cyberpunk, science fiction and anime fans, and it is undoubtedly a reference material for your home theater system. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
