In the 60?s, the Puerto Rican Carlito Brigante, the Afro-American Earl and the Italian Rocco become best friends while in prison. When they are released, Rocco intermediates a heroin business with a family of the Italian Mafia leaded by Artie Bottolota Sr. Carlito negotiates with the lord Leroy 'Hollywood Nicky' Barnes the area where the trio could operate in his neighborhood and sooner the three friends become powerful. Later, Carlito dates and has an affair with the beautiful Leticia. When Earl decides to move to Barbados with his girlfriend and leave the heroin business, his stupid younger brother causes a situation with the Italian mobsters, and Carlito and Rocco have to resolve the mess to save their lives.

A complete and absolute slap in the face to DePalma and Pacino. Should I even explain the plot? An increase in the slums of the wealth in the ghetto streets of Harlem .... yawn! Boring! What makes a truly amazing Carlito's Way: Rise to Power Drama movie Carlitos Way was the simple act of telling stories and characters to explain how he came to where it was. Shame on those who greenlit this project. Prequel? No. Story? No. Sean Puff Dadd Piffy davina farty? No.. Pass. Movies are better. Go rent Number 23 with Jim Carrey. Trust me .. You lauh difficult.

All of you trashing the movie: Carlito's Way: Rise to Power ... and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I have to ask yourself if you liked the DivX Movie Carlito's Way: Rise to Power or not. Do any of you read books Road Carlito was based on the films. There is so much that could have been put on film, whether they could have done a mini-series. If I'm not mistaken, this new DivX Movie Carlito's Way: Rise to Power focuses on a chapter of history. When I say a chapter, not a chapter of a book. Its an important part of the life of the character. This is the part of Carlito the first major battle in his rise to power. I think the DVD movie Carlito's Way: Rise to Power was very good. It could have been much better, but it was not too bad for what it was. Do you expect young people to be both Carlito Carlito as the oldest of the first film. People change with time, experience and age. Just look at the saga of The Godfather and all the changes that happened by Michael Corleone. I think there needs to be more movies to fill in the blanks between the prequel and the original, however.
