| Americanizing Shelly is one of the "Beast Movies Makeover" of our times. BTW, I'm a big fan of films makeover. I love watching "before and after" kind of thing in films, television programs ... anything. In fact, I am a little addicted to these things and try them out. Even love shows like The Swan and Dr. 90210. My friends and I love Kim Kardashian (and do not miss KUWTK) because of the way she is beautiful (though in fact it has never done anything in the movies). But she looks like what most of us aspire to, but ... BTW that does not mean he is not satisfied at all. We just appreciate beautiful looking people like some others appreciate beautiful art or beautiful scenery. With this in mind, my friends and I have compiled a list of "10 BEST FILMS Makeover" of recent times (after 1995). And here they are: (in random order) 1) CLUELESS 2) PRETTY WOMAN 3) The Devil Wears Prada 4) JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE 5) MAID IN MANHATTAN 6) My Big Fat Greek BODA 7) FOR ALL THAT SHE 8) Miss Congeniality 9) Mean Girls 10) Americanize SHELLEY ING. Though, personally ... CLUELESS is # 1 and all others are # 2. I am also preparing a separate list of "10 BEST FILMS Makeover" of all times (before 1995). And yes, I totally recommend this Americanizing Shelley Comedy film (if you have not seen it) ... if you like "makeover movies" or not. |
| We enjoyed this movie. In a world of such gravity and all the tragedy, this DVD film Americanizing Shelley comes through and lifts their spirits. We find it very innovative and imaginative. Truth is funny, but it is only a Americanizing Shelley Comedy film and there is no need to get all upset that someone was stepping on the culture. When an American is portrayed on the screen which is automatically assume all Americans? Of course not. We hope that the author writes more movies so we can see each and every one. We recommend this movie. This is from a mix of young Europeans to be indigenous. Our 2 cents |
| This order rate of 10 on my scale. It is not only a terrible romantic comedy, but as a person of East Indian descent, I can identify with many of the dilemmas and Shelly film: Americanizing Shelley humor. No spoilers, but one of the best of the DivX film Americanizing Shelley is Shelly's turning 30 and the dilemma occurs. I loved his mother at that stage and that's definitely not, as it did in "Bend It Like Beckham." make the scene had 30 stitches in me and reminded me of the similar situation in "My big fat Greek wedding", but made a very smart take. While the mood is so funny and maintain a line to come, the best of the Americanizing Shelley Comedy movie is the decision that Shelly makes the final. Is absolutely the heart of the DivX Movie Americanizing Shelley and i really Welles for that point. Not to give away much, but this is just a super, super nice DivX Movie Americanizing Shelley ... and is so nice to see the Indians to succeed in Hollywood. |
| This Americanizing Shelley movie has offended me on so many levels, it is incredible! The only good thing about the Americanizing Shelley Comedy is gently Gujral that looks beautiful on screen, but that is only saving grace when I heard that she was also a writer! To start the filmmakers conveniently assume that the public has no idea what so ever about India and its culture, ancient and contemporary. The filmmakers are capable of playing all aspects of Indian culture reference. In this global world with so much interaction between countries and cultures is surprising to see the trivialization of Indian culture. It is difficult to believe that the Indians were associated with this film, this DivX Movie Americanizing Shelley is able to show a worse Indians in the light of what Peter Sellers was able to do with your fake Indian accent. The story, direction and acting in this DVD film Americanizing Shelley is horrible. Its amazing that the film: Americanizing Shelley was even released. Gujral hope not ever write a script, at least nothing that even remotely relates to India. Just a terrible movie. |

I saw this DVD movie Americanizing Shelley fest Sn Diego and I must admit I did not know much about Indian culture, but was educated, entertained and happy (for the initiative esp girls) in every possible way. I just know that this DivX film Americanizing Shelley is opening in a few weeks and I am psyched. Only a very funny Americanizing Shelley Comedy and worth seeing, this is definitely not for me. SDFF was a success and go to the party's website and reading some of the reviews will give you some more audience reactions (observation for mine as well - is buried there with the others). I feel fortunate to be among the first to have seen. | Undoubtedly one of the worst movies I've had to sit through. I saw recently at a DVD movie Americanizing Shelley festival in Connecticut and was simply amazed that the organizers passed to the selection. I can not think of a single redeeming feature. Indians are portrayed as crude stereotypes and paternalistic that defies belief, surprisingly so considering that the writer (and lead actress) is of Indian origin itself. Beyond the usual silly accents, led us to believe that indigenous peoples are culturally and technologically backward. For example, when Shelley (after processing) is reunited with her family before her marriage, explained the surprise of what happened to her ugly duckling-style glasses: "The Americans have called these amazing things contact lenses" . Incredible. But make no mistake, there is much to be bothered by that racial stereotypes. Content not only to offend anyone of an Indian, the ineptitude of the production ensures that virtually anyone with an ounce of intelligence should be equally disgusted: the jokes are predictable and unfunny, off a plot conceived mess of clichés, the acting largely indifferent. Given that the DVD movie Americanizing Shelley was screened at the closing of a great festival, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, Americanizing Shelly is like a bad made for television rom-com. Unless you can always change the television channel to a program with more class, humor and artistic merit, such as the Home Shopping. |
| After seeing "Tropic Thunder" (2008), it has become clear that the Hollywood actors, directors, writers and the need to fund research on the characters to be portrayed. Only the title of the Americanizing Shelley Comedy movie alone makes the public aware of the need to "Americanize" the people and make 'generic Americans. " And, in doing so, we need to bury or hide their culture. Right? Wrong. Americans to become "culture-sensitive" and thus send a positive message that someone else is the culture on an equal footing with the Americans. I'm fine. Okay. A number of people attended an Indian Americanizing Shelley Comedy film festival in Connecticut. Those who have become "Americanized" not offended by the film. However, some believe that Indian culture was portrayed in a negative light, and have had the dignity and respect of being on an equal footing with American culture. A significant number of Americans act like other cultures are inferior. This is wrong and not true at all. "Shelley" is a name of America, and taught how to act, feel and think like Hollywood stereotypes of Americans. Indian culture has to be investigated, and the script should be further developed. But even with all its flaws, the movie: Americanizing Shelley is worthy enough to be seen. Indeed, there are some very nice, very funny and very moving moment. To attempt a fair, I rate this Americanizing Shelley Comedy film a 6 out of 10. With a little polish, and more work, the Americanizing Shelley Comedy that at least a range of 8 or 9. |
| When you rent this film, we had no idea or hope of this film: Americanizing Shelley as I was not sure how it would be. But being a fan of Bollywood Lite, I thought of giving a shot, as I enjoyed the Bride and Prejudice and Guru. But the next couple of hours turned into a fun experience. I would say that is a small film, but also my beloved husband. The lead actress is not only a great attention, but also a true artist. African-American actor had us laughing so hard with his little quips. The main type of action seems a bit out, but not enough to detract from the film. The cast were all very well in their duties, and we recommend this Americanizing Shelley Comedy to all fans of the romantic comedy or foreign-indie genre. Overall a very fun time. |
