A high-adrenaline tale of young climber Peter Garrett (Chris O'Donnell), who must launch a treacherous and extraordinary rescue effort up K2, the world's second highest peak. Confronting both his own limitations and the awesome power of nature's uncontrollable elements, Peter risks his life to save his sister, Annie (Robin Tunney), and her summit team (Bill Paxton and Nicholas Lea) in a race against time. The team is trapped in an icy grave at 26,000 feet - a death zone above the vertical limit of endurance where the human body cannot survive for long. Every second counts as Peter enlists the help of a crew of fellow climbers, including eccentric, reclusive mountain man Montgomery Wick (Scott Glenn), to ascend the chilling might of the world's most feared peak to save her.

I agree with what most critics say in this case. Berardinelli sums it up well when he says "It's not a bad movie, and not fall prey to the greatest number of topics that have affected their predecessors, but their numerous mistakes to reduce the level of an exciting thriller popcorn a detour" Ebert and well defined with the Vertical Limit movie "I can not recommend the DVD film Vertical Limit as an adventure, while B wonder what kind of a Vertical Limit movie could have been made of similar material." That's it, I found the suspense and good sound effects, camera and special f / x half, while the set decoration and screenplay were poor, while probably the worst thing about this Vertical Limit Adventure for me is that it is totally full of stupid, unnecessary topics. In total, slightly above average.
In short, to save the lives of five other costs Annie lives, hardly worth the price, right? The body would have been lower if it has Chris O'Donnell just let her die in the mountains. I hope that was really special, or have the cure for cancer or something great merit of this waste of humanity.
This is very possible that the worst Vertical Limit film I've ever seen. Seriously. It is absolutely terrible. Anyone who thinks this is still comparble a "perfect storm" is completely out of their minds. It is totally unbelievable, and a total waste of time. Do not waste your human existence see this horrible piece of shit.
I'm surprised by all the hostility to this Vertical Limit film in IMDb. I had read the comments here, I have missed this well-made and entertaining film. On one hand, it has been a pleasure to see an action Vertical Limit Adventure film that does not involve firearms and shooting - enough of that nonsense. On the contrary, this Vertical Limit Adventure movie is filled with spectacular scenery, good looking actors and actresses, some unexpected and knowledge on issues of moral conviction and sacrifice. With regard to the accuracy of the details of the escalation, could not care less. This is not a how-to film. And as to the desirability of transporting nitroglycerine into dangerous terrain, see Henri-Georges Clouzot the masterpiece, "The Wages of Fear" or the excellent remake of William Friedkin's "Sorcerer." Neither one of these great films has been hampered by a questionable premise. I recommend "Vertical Limit" exciting for escapism.
Seeing this DivX Movie Vertical Limit reminded me immediately seeking Johnny! There are many similarities .. (Although I like Johnny search, I did not like this movie). Like JQ, this film: Vertical Limit has a number of "fall from a cliff just to get a shelf at the last minute" moments. This DVD film Vertical Limit was incredible. Not in the sense of being great, but it is only literally unbelievable. I do not think that if something happened in the Vertical Limit Adventure film happened in real life no one would survive. In addition, acting was mediocre, and the music might well have been the result of any action film. The facts were terribly inaccurate, and that was not correct, even the mountain! If you want to see a REAL mountaineer the film, visit the Everest (1998)!
While a number of comments to admire the endless action Vertical Limit, I felt bored and ultimately boring. The problem is the lack of pace and dramatic accumulation. Each of these incredible new Cliffhanger mountaineers incompetent is not very different from the last. Cliffhanger does not contribute to the next. It is simply a string of incredible disconnect "thrill" sequences. Half of the film, I would start to laugh like a Cliffhanger developed. I waited to see how many ridiculous elements the director and writers can be lots of (which is hanging on his ice ax into a cliff, is breaking the ledge, now the woman is hanging, and hanging out of it, and now operates the nitro, now comes an avalanche). But at the end of each sequence, someone is either saved or killed, and spending as if nothing had happened .... Major activities of the directors know how to create excitement at the top of the excitement, with a rhythm. Each situation, while resolved locally, contributing to increased tension, until the public is sitting on the edge of their seats. Vertical Limit is not composed entirely of tension action sequences. Boring and predictable ending.
