| Undoubtedly one of the best moments Gilliam. A perfect vehicle for him, although he did not write himself. Manages to inject his own brand and idiosyncratic quirkiness without losing focus, as they have in the past. Here, as in Fisher King, a great script to work. He is unlike any other director there, the balance of melancholy and drama with black comedy elements of great skill. I remember blown away by the first scene with Brad, what a total transformation! I barely recognized, and be able to do what he does here is a sign of a serious actor working hard. The intricate story and lends itself to multiple views, and I have returned to this DVD movie Twelve Monkeys many times since 1996, and will probably continue to do so. The result is very original for a Hollywood production. At first Piazolla accordion may seem too bold a step, but it soon becomes clear that it works perfectly. The rest of the score Buckmasters Paul is also right on the money. Now I would love to see something Gilliam adaptation of Philip K. Dick. In retrospect, this is one of the top ten films of the nineties, and still is my priority at all times ten SF-movie list. |
| Oh yes, this is an excellent film, nothing less. Guys, watch this Twelve Monkeys Sci-Fi if you like time travel / ambiguity / a good mystery / thriller, one of those movies where you can see all the pieces in place on a perfect puzzle. If you want a concrete structure, the better to avoid, because you label as junk because it's not your type of movie. But, of course, if you like movies like Memento or The Machinist, give this one a go. The scenes where Willis and Stowe are watching a DVD film Twelve Monkeys days old saying that every time you see certain films look different because they are different, their views on how the actual audience of this movie: Twelve Monkeys feel, is the domain! So, to change their appearance, are in different clothing that makes them see how the characters of the Twelve Monkeys Sci-Fi film you just watch. Go see these people! |
| Probably one of the most complex stories ever created on film, Twelve Monkeys is one of the most attractive. That forced me from the moment they began the second the credits started rolling. I have seen many times and each time I see some small symbolism that I did not notice before, but I do not think I will ever be able to capture each symbol Gilliam put in this brilliant film. I am frankly amazed by the ingenious way the story is ever see it. It is certainly a science fiction but it's almost like in a thriller that has many twists and turns the plot and every time I see it, I'm still amazed. The complexity and detail of the peoples and Gilliam put in this Twelve Monkeys Sci-Fi is impressive. Truly one of the wonders of Twelve Monkeys Sci-Fi movie history. Of course we also have to mention Brad Pitt absurdly charismatic performance that is among the best I've ever seen. Bruce Willis is also quite good. |
| I have not seen this Twelve Monkeys Sci-Fi movie 13 years after his release. Everyone I met said it was excellent, but I never around it. Finally, I picked and I am blown away. The movie: Twelve Monkeys is slow at times, but keeps you intrigued and interested. The argument is that the world has been almost wiped out by a virus that is believed to have been freed by the army of the twelve monkeys. James Cole (Bruce Willis) is sent to gather information to help prevent it.The film: Twelve Monkeys is there and has a little twist on the whole. The last 10-15 minutes is what blew me away. It is shocking to some questions and answers about why Cole keeps dreaming the same thing over and over again. This is a classic and I always recommend it to friends who are looking for a good science fiction or a good Twelve Monkeys film in general. Great job Terry Gilliam |
| I ask only one thing at a time travel story: Regardless of the rules to establish how it works and what the effects of the paradox is that they follow. Can be completely absurd from the standpoint of both physics and common sense, but whatever rules are established early in the story should be obeyed as the story continues. Twelve Monkeys do this. There are a couple of points on which history can be deceiving, but the director / writer to avoid temptation. The principle of internal consistency, the argument is compelling and the end is dramatic. The sterile future world contrasts with the dirty and polluted world of the past, and viewers will gradually understand the irony that it is dirty, polluted world that the time travelers are restoring hope, changing the past. A beautiful movie. |
