In 1964, a brash new pro boxer, fresh from his olympic gold medal victory, explodes on to the scene, Cassius Clay. Bold and outspoken, he cuts an entirely new image for African American's in sport with his proud public self confidence with his unapologetic belief that he is the greatest boxer of all time. To his credit, he sets out to prove that with his highly agile and forceful style soon making him a formidable boxer who soon claims the heavyweight championship. His personal life is no less noteworthy with his allegiance to the Nation of Islam, his friendship with the controversial Malcolm X and his abandonment of his slave name in favour of Muhammad Ali stirring up controversy. Yet, at the top of his game, both Ali's personal and professional lives face the ultimate test with the military draft rules are changed, making him eligible for military induction during the Vietnam War. Despite the fact that he could easily agree to a sweetheart deal that would have meant an easy tour of duty for himself, Ali refuses to submit on principle to cooperate in an unjust war for a racist nation that treated his people so poorly. The cost of that stand is high as he finds himself unable to legally box in his own country while his case is contested in court. What follows is a battle for a man who would sacrifice so much for what he believes in and a comeback that would cement his legend as one of the great sports figures of all time.

Ali is a very entertaining and beautiful Ali movie star Will Smith as Ali Muhhammud. The argument is simply the life of Muhammad Ali and his incredible career. One thing that I found very interesting was the fact that Will Smith has increased slightly silly parts in movies like Men in Black and also in the television program "The new Prince of Bel-Air" with a brilliant performance in a difficult part . His physical is also quite surprising since it is usually not in all muscles but very large in this movie. Jamie Foxx also co-stars as his coach and also kind of gives you a very good performance. In general, Ali thought it was very entertaining and a good DVD film Ali with a great cast and a great performance. 8 / 10

Michael Mann chopped general direction and a script really stop wandering what could have been a great movie. Mann is obsessed with the music of the time and although sometimes it does create a pleasant environment, also extends to several unnecessary scenes, because the length of it. The script is in great detail in some areas of the life of Ali, but left other areas strangely overlooked. For example, a lot of time is devoted to his father, while almost none is devoted to the relationship between Ali and Joe Frazier, who many regard as his greatest enemy, the more interesting foil, and Ali the greatest triumph, however, the thriller in Manilla is not even mentioned. In the end, it works to some extent thanks to a wide range of excellent results, including Jamie Fox, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ron Silver, Mykelti Williamson, Jeffrey Wright, and, above all, Jon Voight and Mario Van Peebles. The last two historical figures portrayed in their own right and give scope to the men deserve, while being deferential to Ali. Finally, Will Smith gives the best performance of his career to date and continues to grow as an actor as well supplant Ali while creating an imperfect but larger than life that the man becomes a legend.
