| This sweeping drama has it all: first class acting, great photography, good story. It is often compared to "Braveheart" because both films take place in the history of Scotland. Although I love Braveheart, I think this is the best of the two films. Jessica Lange gave an incredible performance (should have been nominated for an Oscar). Liam Neeson is terrific in the title role. Tim Roth plays one of the most evil, despicable characters in DVD film Rob Roy history (he was nominated for an Oscar). John Hurt is excellent as Lord Montrose, dislike another character. I am always amazed at the incredible variety of characters that can play John Hurt. This is the story of a dispute over money between Rob Roy and his clan, and Lord of Montrose. Rob Roy is a man that will not solve their problems with Montrose if it violates their sense of honor. Montrose, who inherited his title, no sense of honor. And that's basically what this story is all about the honor of the common man against the corruption of the nobility. This DivX film Rob Roy is very entertaining, there is an appeal to all. It has romance, action, beautiful scenery and has an interesting plot. One of my favorite movies. |
| What can you say about a movie: Rob Roy that has one of the darkest, most nihilistic and sometimes stranger-I wont say 'nice' .. I say "charismatic" villains in Rob Roy film history, and the best sword fight from Fairbanks and Flynn in his heyday? This is an epic about a stubborn, sometimes absurd, incredibly brave and honest man fighting for his honor and liberty against tyranny. I loved it. John Hurt and Tim Roth were great villains. Jessica Lange was very moving, tender and sensual. |
| Well done, scenic, finally made the film, Liam Neeson is great and we should have the same basic part Threat Phantom, is a force of nature here. Roth is a great evil, Hurt too. I thought at the scene of the assault Jessica was hard to see that crap, but it happened. The British were tyrants in the Upper Heather even in 1700 as they were in 1300 in 'Bravehearts days. I see this as a bit of a precursor of Braveheart, even though it came out almost at the same time, it should done better at the box office and the same at the Oscars. *** 1 / 2, and children ... that final fight between Roth and Liam ... my o my. |
| Liam Neeson portrays the legendary Scot Robert Roy Macgregor of the 18th century. He is a true actor. That captivates the audience with his charisma as he does in all its functions. Jessica Lange is excellent as his wife Mary. Mary is a beautiful woman. It's his love that makes the legend of Rob Roy, but his passion is making your eternal love. They need each other. Tim Roth as the evil Cunningham is perfect in one way or another, watching the movie, Cunningham is disgusting. The scenery is beautiful Scotland. The environment and conditions of the times are pretty good show. If you like history, romance, passion and love, you will enjoy Rob Roy. It is not violence and blood, but is inevitable in this story as saying that should be told, no gratuitous violence. And you have to listen carefully if not used for a Scottish accent. An important point that makes this Rob Roy movie so good that it is not an actor or actress is glamorized to look dirty and unattractive, in fact, in several scenes. Agent is its ability to attract, not based on brand names, popularity or sex symbol appeal. This is something special. |
| This is one of my favorite movies of all time - will eclipse that Braveheart was more money and attention. Liam Neeson is just oozes masculinity in this film, and if I was Jessica Lange me Liftin 'me skirts all the time too. His image of Mary is so beautiful McGregor - Mary is as strong as the man she married. Tim Roth is a bit exaggerated as Archie Cunningham evil, but still manages to be credible. I think the two most underrated actors in this DivX Movie Rob Roy are Eric Stoltz as McDonald and Brian Macardie as Rob Roy's younger brother. The scene in the forest that is conducting MacDonald Cunningham is just dying to watch and brilliantly filmed. MacArdie compassion for Mary McGregor when he learned his movement is so secret, the kind who just want to hug and pat him on the head. The final swordfight between Archibald and Rob is amazing, one of the best fights I've seen Rob Roy War - Yes, it is bloody, but death tends to be. Rent!
