| Since I first saw the trailer for this movie, it seems that many moons ago, I have wanted to see him, I just love a good story of supernatural terror and the feeling of chills running down my spine. Unfortunately 'American Haunting' is not much scarier than in Monster Inc. did not begin with promise, but it becomes tedious very quickly, the effects of the ghost in the house are on the screen during most of the American Haunting, An Drama movie and simply become more boring and used, the main fall for me, however, was the lack of fear in the characters, none of them appears to be credible to terrorism events. I remember when he made good films (the common people is a brilliant American Haunting, An Drama if you've never seen). This is definitely a big fall from grace for him. May God have mercy on his soul, and all others associated with this piece of shit. Nuff said. |
| Well actually it is a brilliant psychological thriller ..... but the writing and the direction of Courtney Solomon us on the edge of our seats and actually told this story to its full potential. The whole cast really did an amazing job, including Donald Sutherland, Sissy Spacek and Rachel Hurd-Wood surprising. An American Haunting is actually a true story about the Bell Witch that haunted this family had in 1800. I would compare this to other classics like Psycho, The Exorcist and the Shining. The special effects were not exaggerated and helped to show the true reality of this family. There were many harrowing scenes that helped tell the story beautifully. I'm surprised someone has not made this American Haunting, An movie before ... since Hollywood is always in need of a good story. There have been many books written about this disturbing, and people will visit the Bell farm. Is it true or is it just a good story? So will you just watch the American Haunting, An movie to decide for yourself. I go to the theater to see this again .... just so you do not miss anything the first time. | I will say this: It started well. The DivX film American Haunting, An created momentum for creating a creepy atmosphere and the introduction of characters that the audience really care about and not just the usual stereotype that the cars are set initially only for the purpose of killing them later. So, anyway, everything was fine until about the last 25 minutes. The writers, who had so far written a rare and cliché-free film, decided to insert one of those damn twist endings. Everything was going great and BAM! There is a twist in the final act that completely destroys any trace of a well-established history. Of course, that is the way that most horror films today are. The same thing happened to another recent horror film, High Tension. That American Haunting, An movie had so much potential and that at the height of most of it, but then the filmmakers decided to turn in a plot twist that did not make sense. But back to this film. For the most part was decent, and certainly a cut above many other recent horror films, for example, The Grudge, Prom Night, Hostel. | Sound of horror with a bit of a confusing ending. So she was molested by her father, but Sutherland was Spacek's father? It was this "Chinatown" gone ghost story? It is not clear. Visually pleasing, but continues in parts in the sense that nothing happens story-wise: arrive ghost ghost attacks, it ghost ghost attacks. After a while becomes a bit static. The girl, Rachel Hurd-Wood, is impressive. Hopefully that makes a race so we have a beautiful female star, for once, I think we had too much of dogs like Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, La Lopez, or Drew Barrymore. We'll have something beautiful and feminine for a change! And nepotism! |
